The meeting will inform about the past year’s activities and what’s still cooking, as well as include the election of committee members (please let us know whether you want to nominate yourself or someone else). 

After those formalities, we are pleased to present two interesting guest speakers:

Dennis Corbett will inform about the development plans for the Kiwi Fresh Orange land between the Kerikeri CBD and SH10 in Waipapa, which is still pending the required re-zoning consent in the FNDC Proposed District Plan. This greenfield land provides a unique opportunity for Kerikeri’s ongoing growth without continuing the urban sprawl while providing more affordable housing than possible by densifying Kerikeri town. The developer is offering to provide all infrastructure without cost to existing ratepayers, including roads, cycle and walking tracks, as well as access to another beautiful Kerikeri River waterfall.  

Andy Mentor is the Mid-North co-ordinator for Kiwi Coast, a role he has been in for ten years. Kiwi Coast is a charitable trust which supports community, iwi and corporate conservation projects. Its aim is to create wildlife corridors and healthy forests by resourcing motivated communities caring for their environment.
