Help bring the native birds back to the Kerikeri river track

For those who have had the pleasure of walking along the Kerikeri River Track,

with its stands of Totara, Kahikatea and other native trees, shrubs and ferns, it

is often noticeably quiet, with only the sounds of the river, and the traffic in the

distance, breaking the silence. While you will occasionally hear a Tui, or a

Riroriro, alongside the blackbirds and thrushes, the sound of native birds is

largely absent. There was a time when the forest would have been filled with

birdsong, and flowering trees and shrubs.

Join Kiwi Coast on a programme to bring back the native birds to the Kerikeri

River - full details below.
