Te Wairere Waterfall Walking Track - Map & Notes Track Status = OPEN

The track is not particularly difficult but you need to wear footwear that will handle stony and slippery terrain. The track is rocky in places and will be slippery if conditions are wet or there has been recent rain. Do not use the track if there is any risk of flooding. Dogs are not allowed on some sections of the track, these are signposted. Cycling, camping and lighting of fires is prohibited.
There are several circular walks you could consider that can incorporate the Te Wairere Waterfall Track. Here are some suggestions. The start / finish points can be reversed (allow about 2 hours for these walks).

Kororipo Heritage carparks to Cobham Road. Return via Hone Heke Road to Kingston House then walk down Hongi Hika Track back to Stone Store

Kororipo Heritage carparks to Cobham Road (3). Return via Cobham Road, Kerikeri Inlet Road then along Pa Road to Pagoda Lodge. Walk along the track immediately before you reach Pagoda Lodge, to the Pa Road Footbridge which brings you back to the start point for the Waterfall Track.

Kororipo Heritage carparks to Mill Lane exit. When you get to Mill Lane take the first on the left (General Gates)Ave, walk through the path at the end to Charlotte Kemp Road and follow this back to Kerikeri Road. walk back to the town centre along Kerikeri Road in the direction of the Stone Store. Walk along the Heritage Bypass and after you cross the Kerikeri River bridge, walk down the concrete ramp and onto the Kerikeri River track which takes you back to the Stone Store past Wharepuke Falls.
If you are driving, park your vehicle at the Landing Road Carpark located on Landing Road which is accessed off Waipapa Road. Alternatively, park your vehicle in the area upstream from the Cobham Road Bridge on Cobham Road. There is also signposted pedestrian only access off Alderton Drive.

Donations can be made to help with extending, upgrading and maintaining the track. This work is all completed by community volunteers.

The bridge would not have been possible without a generous donation from Michael Sidey of Wanaka who is the grandson of previous owners of Pagoda Lodge which you will see if you include Pa Road in your walk. Rotary Kerikeri built the bridge.
Track building and maintenance is carried out by community volunteers. Here "Friends of the Wairoa Stream" volunteers are working on the track around the falls. "The Friends' have working bees on the First and third Monday of each month.
