Progress on new Wairoa Stream footbridge

In April the pole piles were placed for the new footbridge being built half a kilometre upstream from Cobham Rd bridge. The bridge will connect the Wairoa Stream track to Campbell Lane and Shepherd Road.

work has been on hold during the wet winter months but construction, by Rotary Kerikeri, is now well underway. Led by experienced Project Manager Keith Day, with the skilled assistance of Peter Foote and his digger. They have very professionally managed the difficult task of getting the huge 9-metre-long pole beams across the stream.

At the time of writing the bridge is not open for public access, we expect it to be opened in December. We will keep you updated.

Here some images of the recent work on the bridge.
